Dr. Harinath was awarded the Order of Australia Medal in 2009 for his outstanding service to cricket and the community.
Dr G.K (Hari) Harinath, MBBS, DTM&H OAM has been the Chair of the Multicultural NSW Advisory Board since September 2014. He is also the Chairman of Parramasala, and has been a long-time leader within the Indian Australian community.
He has been a well respected General Practitioner for over 35 years, serving the community in Sydney’s eastern suburbs and being a Managing Partner of the East Garden Medical Centre.
He is a Board member of South East Sydney Area Health Services.
He was awarded the Order of Australia Medal in 2009 for service to cricket and the community.
His former achievements include being the Chairman and Board Member of Cricket NSW, a Board Member of- Cricket Australia, President of Sydney Cricket Club, and Director of the Bradman Foundation. In September 2010, Dr Harinath was awarded Life Membership of Cricket NSW for his outstanding service to cricket.
In February 2011 he was honoured with a Distinguished Long Service Award by the NSW Sports Federation.
He has been appointed a NSW Centenary of Anzac Ambassador, reflecting his position as a community leader.
In January 2017, he was awarded the President of the Indian Government’s 2017 Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award for community service.
